P.L. Schmitt Carbide Tooling was founded by Paul and Dawn Schmitt with a commitment to quality workmanship, customer relationships, and American manufacturing. That foundation continues today under the leadership of Ryan Powell, President and Owner of PLSCT.

Ryan represents the next generation of ownership and remains directly involved in customer partnerships, production strategy, technical development, and the continued growth of the company’s private-label manufacturing programs.

Paul Schmitt, our retired founder, established the tooling knowledge and manufacturing standards that helped shape PLSCT. His experience and the values on which the company was built remain part of how we approach the work today.

Along side that leadership is a skilled, close-knit team of toolmakers, production leaders, operators, quality personnel, and support staff. Together, we combine decades of hands-on tooling knowledge with modern CNC grinding technology and production systems.

We are proud to operate as a family-owned Michigan manufacturer and to build long-term partnerships with customers who value responsiveness, consistency, and direct access to the people making their tools.
